- The 2024 Paris Auto Show will take place from October 14 to October 20.
- This year marks the 90th edition of the event, which was first held in 1898.
Auto shows may have lost much of their luster in recent years—blame the internet or maybe just our collective shrinking attention spans that now seem shorter than a TikTok video—but a few still manage to pull off interesting debuts of concept cars and production models.
The biennial Paris Auto Show, or if you want to sound more sophisticated, Mondial de l’automobile de Paris (or Mondial de l’Auto in French), which alternates with Germany’s IAA, remains one of the last bastions of such events in Europe, still managing to attract the attention of major automakers, much to their credit.
This year, the show runs from October 14 to 20 in the heart of Paris. As per tradition, all of the big world premieres will happen on day one, which is dedicated to the press.
To keep you up to speed with the latest Paris motor show-related news, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of upcoming premieres—both confirmed and rumored. We’ll keep updating it as automakers continue to drop hints and teasers, so stay tuned.
Alpine A390_β Concept
Alpine is ready to show us its first-ever crossover in the form of the A390_β concept. Teasers and spy shots reveal a sporty coupe-SUV stance, with aggressive styling details. The fully electric powertrain is expected to produce up to 600 hp from a dual-motor setup, giving it AWD capabilities.
The concept will debut on October 11, before its first public outing in Paris. The production version is expected to follow next year, serving as a rival to the Porsche Macan EV.
Alpine Alpenglow Hy6 Concept
The French brand will also show an evolution of its hydrogen-powered supercar concept, originally unveiled in 2022. The new iteration will swap the original model’s four-cylinder engine for a more powerful V6, again running on hydrogen. The Alpenglow might be a rolling lab for new technologies, but Alpine hinted there is a chance it evolves into a production offering by 2028.
BMW iX3 (Not Confirmed)
BMW is about to enter a new era, with its upcoming models riding on the electrified Neue Klasse architecture. While unconfirmed, the Bavarian automaker might use the Paris Auto Show to debut the new iX3, which was teased earlier this year by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept.
The fully electric SUV will feature both single- and dual-motor setups, with an M-branded version rumored to be on the horizon. The BMW iX3 will be sold alongside the unrelated X3, which marches on after its recent facelift. (Illustration: Josh Byrnes/Carscoops)
Citroen C4 facelift
The Citroen C4 and C4-X are set to receive their mid-cycle updates, adopting the brand’s latest design language, as seen on the C3 and C3 Aircross. Exterior revisions will focus on the front and rear, featuring cleaner lighting designs and the new double-chevron emblem. Spy shots suggest that interior changes will be more subtle. The powertrain lineup is expected to remain unchanged, with the crossovers continuing to offer Stellantis’ mild-hybrid and EV options.
Dacia Bigster
The Dacia Bigster marks the Romanian brand’s foray into the compact SUV segment, aiming to deliver a blend of practicality and rugged styling at an affordable price point. Based on the 2021 concept, the production version will likely be an extended variant of the Dacia Duster, sharing its CMF-B platform and powertrain options.
Expected to stretch to around 4.6 meters (181 inches), the Bigster will be Dacia’s longest model yet. The extended body will offer the option of three-row seating, though entry-level trims will likely feature two rows and a larger cargo area. (Illustration: Jean Francois Hubert/SB-Medien)
Ford Puma GEN-E (Not Confirmed)
The Ford Puma GEN-E is coming to challenge the fully electric subcompact SUVs from the Stellantis group. A covered grille and a few EV-specific design elements will differentiate it from the internal combustion Puma lineup, which received a facelift earlier this year.
The electric powertrain could be sourced from the mechanically-related Ford E-Tourneo Custom, which produces 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). Production of the Ford Puma GEN-E will take place in Craiova, Romania, alongside its ICE-powered versions.
Mini JCW E (Not Confirmed)
Mini plans on expanding its JCW lineup with a host of ICE-powered and fully electric models. Both the Mini John Cooper Works E and the gas-powered hot hatch equivalent have been confirmed to debut this fall, so one of them could appear in Paris.
The most powerful version of the electric hatchback recently surfaced in China, showcasing its exterior design and key specifications. According to official filings, the single electric motor produces 255 hp (190 kW / 258 PS), paired with a JCW-specific bodykit and chassis setup.
Renault 4 E-Tech
A new R4 E-Tech will soon join the R5 E-Tech supermini, bringing nostalgic styling cues from the original in the form of a fully electric crossover. The production model will be a more toned-down version of the 2022 4EVER Trophy concept, with smaller wheels and revised bumpers.
Built on the AmpR Small EV architecture (formerly CMF-BEV), the R4 E-Tech will likely share powertrain options with the smaller R5 E-Tech. This retro-inspired crossover will compete in the crowded subcompact SUV segment as the electric counterpart to the Renault Captur. (Illustration: Jean Francois Hubert/SB-Medien)
Renault 17 Electric Restomod
With the restomod business booming, Renault decided take a stab at revamping a classic: the Renault 17 from the ’70s. In collaboration with French designer Ora Ito, the coupe’s exterior now features sleek LEDs and new wheels while maintaining the proportions of the original. The interior has been overhauled with cutting-edge technology.
Beneath the surface, the R17 boasts a new carbon fiber chassis, and its internal combustion engine has been replaced with an electric motor driving the rear wheels. Sadly, the R17 Electric Restomod is not destined for production and will likely remain a one-off.
Renault Estafette Concept
Renault is reviving the Estaffette nameplate from the ’60s with a new electric van. The Renault Estaffette concept previews a production LCV, set to arrive in 2026, with retro-futuristic styling and a seriously cool interior. The van is based on the FlexEVan architecture developed in collaboration with Volvo and logistics company CMA CGM Group. Thanks to clever packaging, it measures 4,870 mm (191.7 inches) long, but has a 7.1 square-meter (250.7 cubic feet) load capacity.
Skoda Elroq
The Skoda Elroq is a new fully electric compact SUV, built on VW Group’s MEB architecture. It will showcase Skoda’s latest design language, including the so-called “Tech-Deck Face.” Both the exterior and interior have been partially revealed through official teasers and sketches ahead of its debut.
Positioned as the zero-emission counterpart to the ICE-powered Skoda Karoq, the Elroq will offer four powertrain and battery configurations (RWD and AWD), delivering up to 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and a maximum range of 348 miles (560 km) on the WLTP cycle. (Illustration: Josh Byrnes)
VW Tayron
Volkswagen can’t stop expanding its SUV lineup with new models. The latest addition is called the Tayron and it serves as a replacement for the three-row Tiguan Allspace. The new model, which is expected to adopt the Tiguan moniker in the US, recently appeared in China as the Tayron L.
The new SUV is expected to share its MQB Evo underpinnings and electrified powertrain options with the slightly smaller EU-spec VW Tiguan. The Tayron will be unveiled on October 10, just ahead of its public debut at the Paris Motor Show.
More Debuts
In addition, several Chinese automakers will be present at the show, showcasing their models to the European market. According to the event’s official website, brands like BYD, Dongfeng Forthing, GAC, Leapmotor, Seres, and XPeng will each have dedicated stands.
